On average most merchants will pay you once a month either by direct deposit (becoming more popular) or mailing you a check. You usually have to accrue a certain amount before affiliate commissions are paid out. For instance if you join, an affiliate program through Clickbank you will get paid every time your commissions reach one hundred dollars or more. There are many other merchant that offer different payment plans, it all depends on your lifestyle and how you structure your affiliate campaign.

If it cost money to join an affiliate program than find out:

1. What you are paying for?

2. Why are you paying for it?

3. Are there future expenses?

4. What’s my return on investment(ROI)?

5. Is any of it refundable?

If you decide that shelling out cash to join an affiliate program is not worth it then the chances are you will find many free programs in your particular niche that have a reputation for quality products and paying on time.

Whichever one you choose make sure they have a way for you to track your sales. The more detailed the better. You have to know where your referrals are coming from and if your advertising is working. Find out also how long your referrals will stay in the merchant database. People do not always buy the first time around. If they purchase the product three to six months after clicking your affiliate link will the merchant give you any credit for the sale? A yes answer means more money in your account.

There are a lot of other things to consider before joining an affiliate program. Do some research on the blogs and forums. Check out what people are saying good or bad about the affiliate program you are interested in joining. Get as much information as possible before making your final decision and then go for it.

Third is content. No matter what the site looks, its worth less if there is no content. People would want to read about what you want to say. Content is what people want. Write content that is unique. Write a few pages a week to ensure that readers always have new to content to read.

Fourth is promotion. Your site needs traffic. To make it simple, without traffic, you will not earn anything. Make sure that you promote your site. Post on forums that are related to the product that you are marketing. Submit articles to article directories. However, do not spam these sites with useless information.

I have purchased the domain name for my classified site with go daddy and the site is about ready to upload to the servers, I was wondering if anyone can kindly offer me some help on how to make a good amount of income from this website and how to best market it etc.

I have a Google Adsense account, plus Bidvertiser and I'm now an affiliate for commission junction and Clickbank.I am willing to join any other affiliates ppc advertising etc to enhance/boost revenue.

I have already seen leads in my cj account from another website I have that is a niche community site that has been going for just over a year and has 765 members to date. Its kind of like a mini Myspace/Faceparty with the option for members to upgrade their accounts to premium.profile uploading, pictures videos blogs etc

I am very enthusiastic flexible and learn quickly.

i have also tried the spiderweb and it is not for me because they do actually ask for money to buy a domain and basically unless you do there is not much chance of making any money

Look over existing products and see if there is a profitable affiliate program in place.

You need a list. Many affiliates assume that because they are promoting someone elses product, rather than their own,they dont need to connect with people. Nothing could be further from the truth. You need a list, because the money is in the list. But creating a list is only half the work you should have a relationship with your subscribers. The real profits are in the relationship you have with your list. Its a myth that your list has to be massive in order to be a super affiliate (although it is helpful), its how responsive your list is that makes the real difference.

You need to create a direct response. One of the most effective methods to creating affiliate commissions is to set up a simple direct response website to market your chosen affiliate program. This is called an affiliate leads response page. You want to have just one page for this site so that your visitor does not get distracted with anything else.

It should contain an opt-in page and a redirect to the affiliate sales page. This setup will allow you to
capture leads and to make profits from your website over and over.

Follow up with your leads. You will need an auto responder to feed your customers high quality content that they cant wait to devour.
