I don't know the top ten, but I'll share who I've used and got paid from:
1. Amazon.com
Now they only give credit for merchandise
2. BeFree (reporting.net)
I'm in a few of their programs, like Musician's Friend, and I've been paid by check from them.
3. Likeshare.com
I've been in a few of these. Ashford.com was with them before, and I was paid by check from them.
Other affiliate program are through cj.com (commission junction), Google AdSense, and others.
I have been dealing with affiliates for years ..

-Always promote your domain name not theirs to have the control
-Make sure that they hide their company as much as possible..
